Sacco and Vanzetti--Italians and anarchists-- were executed in 1927 for having murdered two payroll guards in a brazen daytime robbery in 1920. But were they guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of those crimes? Or simply guilty of being immigrants and anarchists?
